FUNNY, doG and I were jokingly discussing the value of LS John Denney when I humorously suggested to think that he might be the most valuable at Mike's "" THill is most important to Miami "" series...

Turns-out, he was the MVP at the Jags, while being directly responsible for both defensive kickoff fumble recoveries, At-A-Boyyy Denney !!

Effortless 58 yarder down the middle for Sturgis !!

Will Davis #29, Hell-Yeaaaa !!

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT PASS ( anywhere-else and it's incomplete ) & 23 yard TD CATCH via THill to Keller (who accumulated 50 yards) on just two of his catches !!

Nice RB crew with Miller (speed), D Thomas (power), Gillislee (speed), Gray (power), and Thiggy as an emergency back/KR !!

GOFINS!!

I'm with you this time Kenny.

Loved the way the team responded to the stinker they had last week. Nice job guys.

Did you see the play that DJ made in the backfield last night. WOW !!! Great play.

Should I say this here ? We miss John Jerry ( I can't believe I said that ) Samuda who I love really had a tough time of it at Jville last night. Martin looked solid to me.

It looks like Carpenter is going to get let out of the "doghouse" after spending the entire year in it. I think the Dolphins will try to make a trade for him, which isn't likely, or outright release him. Either way that will get him out of the "doghouse". :))

First team D looked very good, of course MJD wasn't in the game and that didn't help the Jags. Our CBs looked this week also, again we must consider the team we were playing.

The Jags D isn't bad, but they had there hands full with our 1st team WR and TEs. Wallace does open things up unless Keller and Gibson are a huge upgrade over Bess and Fasano.

One more thing that I'm hearing all over town is about the leadership of the team. There is only one thing that builds leadership and that is WINNING !!!
I wonder if we'll keep Gray and trade Thomas...I'm actually looking forward to the game with the Texans this Saturday.
Heyyyyyy Aaron, wadduppp Bo : )))) ....

I like DThomas, I don't think he's goin anywhere, I think we need two speed guys and two power guys just in case one of either speed or power goes down !!

I'm always lookin forward to our next game !!
Too badd that this isn't the dress rehersal ( with starters playing the majority of the game ), it'd be nice to get a true gauge of ourselves vs an AFC rep SB favorite !!

Probably see 2 qtrs from our starters in this one and I'd imagine that we could get a decent idea of what we might be able to do ( if we can stay close ) up to half-time...

WTF, we haven't had a home game yet !! I guess the league thinks that having our last two pre-season games at home is a reward for playing our first two regular season games on the road ??

The North-Eastern based NFL is way tooo kind to us Southern Boyz ? . ! ? . !
Yea the home games for us in the preseason come against Tampa and New Orleans also equally interesting to see as much as the Houston one. Kv I agree with you ideally I'd have no issue keeping four HB's but, Gillislee from what I've seen (granted I admit not a whole lot a whopping two pro games hard to get coverage of the phins out in 9er/Raider country and a couple college games) seems like hybrid of the speed/power running style he could back either Miller or whoever gets the power back job be it Jonas Gray or Daniel Thomas. My biggest concern for Thomas is his injury proneness and poor play that's plagued the guy the last couple years his best asset I think is that he's good blocker and it makes me wonder sometimes Ireland's done stranger things though. I'm liking Gray though reminds me of Marshawn Lynch back in Cal days and I like that he has aspirations to play like AP.
Kv is right. I slowed the video of the 22 yard pass to Keller. Oh man, placement of the ball any where else would have been a pick or incomplete. The ball was placed to the only open hole available for Keller to catch it. WOW good stuff.

I think this team can grow from this game.

Oh one last thing, Reggie Bush rushed 3 times for 5 yards in the effort to Jets
O-line still needs work but I liked what I saw :) I hope they keep it up.
Yea doG, DJ blew that play outta the water, he engulfed both the QB & RB 5 yards behind the LOS!!!

Thorny, the 27 yarder to Keller before the TD was an ABSOLUTE thing of beauty too, over the shoulder in stride on the finger-tips, could not have been thrown any more perfect, just like the TD !!

I LOVED how every single player on the TEAM went out of their way to commend every player/squad that made a play !!! TEAM is coming together !!!!!

GOFINS!!!
ALSO, we had just ONE PENALTY (late hit to QB on Wilson), until inside the final 2 minutes of the game when we accrued two more penalties due to (slightly over-aggressive players) playing hard until the final tick of the clock !!

Don't lose the penalty and turnover battle, and the 2013 Miami Dolphins will win a lot of games,
( 10 PLUS ) !!

Don't wanna hear that ''' it was the Jags '''' !!
We'd have beat the Boyz too if not for the 14 points we gave'em on turnovers, LET-ALONE practicing 4th down plays rather than taking 9 points worth of chip-shot FG's !!

So I'll say it again,
Don't lose the penalty and turnover battle, and the 2013 Miami Dolphins will win a lot of games,
( 10 PLUS ) !!

GOFINS!!!

'''''' (On the importance new additions like Dustin Keller involved in the offense)- That’s what the preseason is for, to kind of feel things out. Everything’s not going to be perfect and there’s no reason to stress about it.''''''

'''''' (On his feeling after the decisive preseason win)- I think I feel good after we finally settled in, got a good drive, put a drive together, got some first downs and finished it off with a touchdown. It’s just a building block, it’s the preseason (so) don’t read too much into the negative things or the positive things. It’s just the preseason that’s what it is. But it’s here for a reason and we’re going to take advantage of it and see what we can improve upon.''''''

All I was looking for was the Dolphins to look better than last week, and they did that. Seems the media is looking for things to be wrong, and I get that. Fretting about Wallace not being part of the offense is going a bit over board. How do they think Keller and Gibson are so wide open ? We didn't see that last year.
W. Davis and Jonas Gray are making noise. Love D. Jordan. Sturgis had a hell of a kicking game. I feel the same this week as last week...GO DOLPHINS!!!!!

As usual I am not as optimistic as the rest of you. We did better than last week but I was sure looking for more improvement from Tannihill. I again saw nothing from Miller but Gray and Gillislee and Thomas were doing well. We sucked on 3rd down conversions. The 58 yarder was great from Sturgis. Maybe Carp can go to Alaska with the rest of the retired kickers. Our OL really was bad and needs lots of work if they are going to keep RT upright. If we keep on improving we should do well. We won on 4 turnovers we really need to have a better 3rd down conversion ratio. The coach actually showed some interest in the game. Please do not bring Reggie into the conversation again he is still better than Miller........................................................

Watching the Bills game and I do not think you guys should just blow this team off. Their young QB looks good and the defense is strong. OH YES they have a great running back in Spiller. The 3rd QB for the Colts Hennisch(sp) looks good too.

2 preseason games compared to everyone else (but Dallas) playing only 1. Just saying....

Canam Moore and Devlin and Gray are better on the field than Tannehill and Miller. RT is taking much to long in the pocket. Miller shows me very little. I really was looking for a much improved team but the 3rd downs are telling the story. I mean I really want this team to do well better than that I want them to excel but you cannot make steak out of hamburger. They seem very slow to react not young and full of speed like I was looking for. If Keller did not have such great hands RT was just throwing the ball away.

Do you honestly think that these preseason games are being game planned? Miami is not going to show all their cards before the season starts. Come On Polly, RT and Miller are only in for limited amounts. Other teams had their starters in until the half. There is a reason. We all want to see the flash potential for this team although highly unlikely during preseason. Look Buffalo had their rook Qb for most of the game
Boyyy ohhhh boyyyy, ''''' the Colts must be done ''', Luck went 3 and out on his 1st series and their RB fumbled ( untouched in the backfield ) on Lucks 2nd and last series !!!

Bills Spiller had a fumble ( untouched behind the LOS ) too !!!

Sounds tooo similar to THill/Miller's HOF game when many dubbed our 2013 to be over, GIGGGITTTY : ))) !!!

GOFINS!!
'''''''' We won on 4 turnovers '''''' Damnnnn Polly, last week you refused to even consider that we lost due to our turnovers that gave Dallas 14 points and this week you're saying we only won because the opponent gave us the ball !!

AND NOW THIS, on two ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY THROWN BALLS !!!!
'''' If Keller did not have such great hands RT was just throwing the ball away. '''''

Are you sure that you're not an undercover jets, bills or patriots fan ???

You NEVER, EVERRRRR have anything nice to say about the Miami Dolphins !!!!!
''''''' Watching the Bills game and I do not think you guys should just blow this team off.'''''',
and yet, you wrote off the Dolphins on day one back in March while refusing since to give the TEAM any benefit of a doubt whatsoever !!! : (((((((((((((((((((((( !!!

Starting offense has yet to play a full quarter, that's why the 2nd-teamers have all the glory. Moore has had 38 pass attempts, Tannehill 14.
When Philbin was asked how much of the offense has been shown this preseason, he answered about 50%. That is about as vanilla as it can get. Wallace in his running a total of 7 passing plays hasn't even been targeted as of yet. How do we learn anything from that ?

This is the last time I will mention the Dallas game, but I need to tell everyone why that game bothered me so much. From the time I began watching football when I was a kid, I was Green Bay Packer fan. The Dolphins were not in existence at that time. Many of you know that the Cowboys and the Packers had some epic games in that time period. I couldn't stand the Cowboys back then and I can't stand the Cowboys today. They are my least liked team in the NFL and that includes the Jets. So when the Dolphins lost to the Cowboys I was steamed, it didn't matter to me that it was a preseaon game. I didn't care.

Any time I give my opinion on a game, I give you what I see and what I'm thinking at that time. I don't go checking the stat sheet before I say something. I do that on purpose. I can give you an emotional feeling for what I saw in the game, before logic begins to kick in.

Never once did I say the season was over. As a matter of fact I don't think anyone on this site said that. I'm sure if you read the blog sites that surround the Dolphins there could be a few people that feel this season is over. I am not one of them. But if the Dolphins stink up the field. You can bet I am going to say something about it.

Dog, I really appreciate and value your honesty. The idea of throwing in the towel on the season comment , from myself, was to stop an idea that may manifest into negativity.... that's all...

Everybody is entitled to their opinion(s) and for myself I do value them. But not everyone is always going to agree, this is exactly why I Love THE SHOUT. Everybody here is REAL and I love it.

We are all Dolphin fans. No one recently is questioning anyone in regards to this matter. I just prefer to try to be more positive especially this year because I do want the Dolphins to win and be successful. I am proud that you guys are Dolphin fans too and have taken the time to share not only with me but with others on the SHOUT.
We're cool

Kenny I am a Dolphins fan I suppose I expect to much from them. You think I do not like them but I really do. I did not mean to imply Bills were a better team I just said that they played well, and we should not write them off as a solid team we have to beat, while you guys think they should just be laughed at. I know RT has not played much but even my son was unhappy with how long he takes in the pocket. AS for the running backs Miller is just not showing me a thing Sorry but I am entitled to my opinion. Again I will say that preseason means nothing but I was still looking for more spark from the team. I am so tired of losing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I am still having problems getting past the girlie uniforms. OH and on the Colts I was impressed with the new young QB if he deserves some praise what is wrong with saying I thought he played well for a rookie.
1 reply · active 609 weeks ago
AND YES those greenish blueish whateverish jerseys are kinda girlie
''''''' OH and on the Colts I was impressed with the new young QB if he deserves some praise what is wrong with saying I thought he played well for a rookie.'''''''

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING !!!

Cept that you've NEVER said anything so nice about our own !!!

Condensed version over the last 6 months...
""" Don't write-off the Bills and rookie QB EJ Manuel, or the Jets and rookie QB Geno Smith, and If Keller did not have such great hands RT was just throwing the ball away. '''''

Also wondering how long it's gonna take for you to get over RBush and accept the future of LMiller??
Seeing that we haven't won a SB since 72 and shoud/could have won at least a few more in the 70's!! Are you still holding a grudge against Joe Robbie, Joe Thomas or ( whoever the GM was at the time ), and Don Shula for allowing the World Football League to take Csonka, Kiick, Warfield and a starting OLineman who's name escapes me ??

I don't even recall a Salary Cap being in place in those days ??
If we can get over supreme management giving-up on Csonka, Kiick, and Warfield, we can surely get over giving up on Bush !!!

Luv'Ya Polly, but you sure don't make it easy : )))) !!

There comes a time that we must put things behind us. Should'a, could'a, would'a, won't get us anything. So why bother with it ?

This team is trying to develop Ryan Tannehill not EJ Manuel, or Geno Smith. Jeff Ireland didn't have the draft pick to get Luck, or RG3. They took Tannehill and they are going to live or die with him. Maybe he is the wrong guy, but then again maybe he isn't. One thing for sure we are not going to learn that with 14 passes to date in the preseason.

If you're not on board with Tannehill then look at what MM has done in the preseason. If your honest with yourself you can't be very happy about his play either.

OK I did not bring Bush into the site(for a change it was not me) I was just responding to the incorrect specs on him. I did not post them as whoever did knows he was wrong. We have to deal with who we have IMOH we are really lacking if Miller starts. I see much more from Gray. OH I did not say anything about the Jets. When RT impresses me I will let you know. I mentioned the Bills only because you all seem to think that they are the same push overs as years past I do not think so. I believe we will have to play our ass of to beat them just my opinion, I was commenting on the 3rd string Colts QB Henish. Luck needs no comments.
I luv ya too Kenny and it is not hard you try to keep my honest.
1 reply · active 609 weeks ago
Miller is a roster lock, and probably a lock at starter unless he totally falls on his face !!

You're seeing much more from Gray cuz he's fighting for a roster spot and the coaches need to give him farrrr more reps to assure themselves that he's worthy, meanwhile he's also up against the opponents players that are questionable to making their rosters !!

I like Gray a lot, and think he'll make the team, if we go with 2 for speed and 2 for power, which I believe is the advisable route though a FB could possibly eliminate the need for a second power tail-back in DT or JG ....

Much Appreciation on your last sentence, Heart'Ya : )))) !!!

I think that the significance of the Dolphins 2nd team domination of the stats just points out what a lot of you have already said, that the talent level of the team is the best that it's been in years!
1 reply · active 609 weeks ago
At this time it seems the backup talent is much better than what we have seen in the past, and I like the way they are pushing the starters. That can only help the entire team.
Polly Ann Murray's avatar

Polly Ann Murray · 609 weeks ago

Yes I believe we do have much deeper talent than in years past.
Wow, I see I shouldn't leave you kids alone for the weekend! Sorry I didn't see the game or even read about it, I was gone for the week, but just from the score we must have done well! I love the contrast between Polly and KV... Polly is always protecting herself from getting too excited and having it thrown in her face like the Dolphins have done for the last 15 years. KV gulps pitchers full of cool aide. The reality is probably somewhere in the middle. We're looking at a 7-9 team and just a couple more wins takes it to 9-7. I think a winning season is very plausible with the additions made this year. Don't read so much into these pre-season games, the coaches are trying to figure out the final 20 players on the roster.
1 reply · active 609 weeks ago
NO, I make my own Kool-Aid flavors with no artificial sweetners, and I fill numerous pitchers for others to taste !! IF one's gonna drink sour kool-aid they might as well drink sugarless LEMON-aid, , GIGGITTY : ))) !!!

Morning all, been holding off on commenting, thinking a break down of last sundays game would come. I have to say our defense looked good, but still not sold on Tannehill being the man at center for years to come in Miami. I just think so many folks put high hopes on this guy ever since the draft when he shot all the way up into the 1st round pick, then being the starter last year. I think that if he had a couple years to develop, he could be a really good QB. It still may, but i was not impressed with his performance in either of the 2 games. Understand its preseason but this is where were suppose to see how far our starters have come. Going into this year i was excited to hear from sports shows how much improved the dolphins have become but i've heard really nothing as to say they are going to do anything.
1 reply · active 609 weeks ago
I really can't say why none of the media has projected the amount of wins we may have. I don't think they know any more than we do.

From where I sit, I am hearing from the coaching staff that the team is progressing nicely and Tannehill is improving. From the media, I hear mixed reports. Some are saying they are not sure about anything the Dolphins have done, and others are saying they see progress. One of them are not being truthful.

If I must choose which one I believe, I am going to take the coaching staff. Who am I to doubt what a professional coach tells me ? Until I get to the point that I don't trust this " coaching " staff, which I am not nearly close to, I will trust in them.

Trying to gauge how Tannehill is doing with only 14 passes so far in the preseason, and then predicting an outcome for the season would be foolish on the part of the coaching staff. I don't thing the almighty " GREAT GURU BILL BELLACHEAT " would do that.

Predictions are left up the unknowing, unseeing, media, and they are as clueless as we are.
