Jason Taylor Believes that Chad Henne is More Talented than Mark Sanchez

During an interview yesterday with NBC Miami, Miami Dolphins linebacker Jason Taylor said that he believed that Dolphins QB Chad Henne is more talented than New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez.

Here is exactly what he said in the interview:

"We need to grow and we need to continue to change, and I think Chad has grown immensely since I left here a year ago. I saw a kid in New York, Mark Sanchez, that is young, I don't think he's as talented as Chad Henne."

While I agree with Taylor that Henne is more talented than Sanchez, I don't think that he is a better quarterback. Sanchez knows how to win games, and Henne hasn't shown that he does. I know that a lot of you guys are going to strongly disagree with me on this one, but I stand behind what I say. Henne isn't great at winning games and putting together game winning drives and Sanchez is pretty good at it.

I believe absolutely that Henne has a better arm and is a more talented quarterback, but he, for whatever reason, doesn't know how to win games from behind and/or finish teams off when he is ahead, and for that reason I consider Henne to be not as good of a quarterback as Sanchez.

I'm going to keep this one a little short because I know that there will be a lot of discussion and I want you guys to focus most of your time on that discussion.

There has been some comparison recently of Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne and New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez.

If you guys will remember, most people thought that Henne was better than Sanchez at the beginning of the season. Now, I get the feeling that the popular opinion is that Sanchez is better.

I want to know what you guys think of both quarterbacks. Try and put your anti-Jet bias aside. I want you guys to evaluate them according to their talent, not the jersey that they put on.

Vote For Miami Dolphins LT Jake Long For Madden 12 Cover

I understand that this is probably a lost cause, but I figured it would be worth a try anyway.

Voting for the cover athlete of Madden 12 has just begun, and Jake Long is the player representing the Miami Dolphins.

I know that an offensive lineman has never been on the cover of Madden before, but that could change. Long is arguably the best left tackle in the NFL, and he deserves to win this honor despite the Dolphins inability to do much this season.

If you need any more incentive to go and vote for him, just know that his first round matchup is against Mark Sanchez. So, if you vote for Long you are actually sticking it to the Jets. Winning Doesn't Mask Poor Performance By Miami Dolphins Offense

You would think that a win against the Jets should be more satisfying than last Sunday's game actually was.

Not only did the Dolphins defense stop the Jets consistently, but they were also able to force Mark Sanchez into making turnovers that led to points. Heck, without help from our defense, Miami wouldn't have scored a single point.

That's the problem, though. The Miami Dolphins offense was so bad that they only gained 131 total yards against the Jets. What is worse is that Miami was only able to net for 30 passing yards. Numbers like that are embarrassing for any team, and they normally don't constitute a win. Thankfully, the Dolphins have one of the NFL's top defenses and were able to hold the Jets to 6 points while helping the offense get 10.

This game reinforces everything I have been saying the past two weeks about Miami's offense: Chad Henne and Dan Henning need to go, and Ronnie Brown isn't what he used to be.

After making everybody think that he was finally good enough to be a starter in the NFL with his performance against the Raiders, Chad Henne has just regressed to the same poor play that he has been doing his entire NFL career. He just can't make big things happen. He is too much of a robot, and he normally throws a bunch of turnovers. Turnovers weren't a problem in this game, but that was because Miami ran the ball a lot.

Dan Henning finally relied more on the running game than he did the passing game. I know that at the beginning of the season I said that the Dolphins would be better off if they threw more than they ran, but I was wrong. Chad Henne can't take the pressure of carrying the offense, so it is necessary for Miami to keep running the ball.

Henning still isn't in the clear for finally relying on the running game, though. Any time your offense is only able to gain 131 net yards, there has to be something wrong with your offensive coordinator. There is no excuse for such a poor offensive performance, and this should be yet another eye-opener for Stephen Ross that Dan Henning needs to go after this year.

Henning also doesn't seem to know how to use Brandon Marshall. He has been pretty ineffective this year, and it isn't his fault. Yes, he has dropped a few passes, but he still isn't getting much of a chance to make plays at all. At least Marshall is going to stay longer than just this season, because he should be a lot better with a new offensive coordinator.

I'll be honest, though, I don't want the Miami Dolphins to win another game this season. I want them to get a high enough draft pick for a potential franchise quarterback. I have been doing a little research, and Ryan Mallet of Arkansas is a quarterback that the Dolphins may have a shot at getting who I really want them to get.

Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets: The Last Important Matchup For The Dolphins This Year

Please Dolphins, Stick It To This Man On Sunday

Another season is nearing its conclusion for the Miami Dolphins. Instead of going to the playoffs, they are instead preparing for another long offseason. We can discuss the multitude of reasons for such a poor season, but the fact of the matter is that the Dolphins won't be in the playoffs.

I would rather that Miami tanks the rest of the season, honestly. Instead of winning for no reason, why not lose to get a better spot in the draft? They aren't going to do that, but they would be much better off if they did.

The only game that I want the Miami Dolphins to try and win this year is this week's game against the New York Jets. I would love nothing more than to shut Rex Ryan up once more. It would leave us with something good to remember from this season after almost everything else was a disappointment.

So, actually, I don't want the Dolphins to tank the rest of the season. I want them to at least beat the Jets, and then tank the rest.

This week may be the best week to play the Jets, too.

They were just exposed badly on Monday night against the Patriots, and while the Dolphins aren't close to the Patriots anymore, at least we know they have a good shot against the Jets.

Mark Sanchez looked almost as bad as Chad Henne looked against the Browns, and if the Dolphins secondary is able to catch the ball they should have a chance at disrupting Sanchez like the Patriots did. The key will be stopping TE Dustin Keller. He ran all over the Dolphins earlier in the year, and Miami hasn't shown any improvement this year when it comes to covering tight ends.

This is purely hypothetical, but maybe Tony Sparano is starting Chad Henne for just this week's game because he wants to beat the Jets. While I do believe that Tyler Thigpen would be a better choice at starter right now, Henne knows the offense better than Thigpen, and he has experience playing against the Jets. I know this likely isn't Tony Sparano's motive for playing Henne, but I wish it were.

I would love nothing more than for the Dolphins to head into New York and stuff a loss in Rex Ryan's mouth. He has been relatively silent since the loss to the Patriots, so imagine how little he would talk if he lost to the Dolphins. He buried the game ball from the New England game, so he would probably have to blow up the game ball from this week's game if Miami wins.

Chad Henne Will Shine On Prime Time For The Miami Dolphins

There is nothing like a nationally televised football game, unless of course, it is a nationally televised Miami Dolphins game.

This game will be Chad Henne's first game of the season that will be viewed by the entire country, and I expect him to show up in a big way Sunday night.

This is the game that proves to everyone that Chad Henne is a top quarterback in the NFL, and it could not have come at a better time.

The New York Jets are the perfect team for him to beat.

Practically anyone who follows football in the slightest knows about the self-proclaimed "Super Bowl Champions-to be" New York Jets. The casual fan will probably also know about the New York Jets very good defense because of how much they were talked about so much during the offseason.

Chad Henne, on the other hand, is someone that most casual fans do not know much(if at all) about. Henne has been good so far in just under a full year at the helm of the Miami Dolphins, but he has not been good enough to become a household name. He is no Peyton Manning, and not many people know much about him. Most fans have probably heard of him, but they do not pay much attention to him or consider him to be a really good quarterback.

That will change Sunday night.

Chad Henne is going to have a great game through the air, and people will recognize what he is able to do because of the defense he is playing.

If you walk up to a casual fan and ask him/her what team has the best defense in the NFL (without bias), chances are he/she would say the New York Jets, which is why when Henne shreds their defense Sunday night people will take notice. It won't even matter that Darrelle Revis is out with an injury because regular fans do not pay attention to names on defense. They just look at how the defense does as a whole.

The Miami Dolphins have not shown much of a passing offense in the previous two weeks, but I have reason to believe that will change. I think the Dolphins have been waiting to unveil their real passing offense until a big division matchup like this one.

This game is more important than either game that the Dolphins have won so far, which is why Miami will throw the ball more. They will need to put up points to assure a win, which would be huge for the AFC East division standings. A 3-0 start would be great for Miami, but it is especially important because it puts the Jets at 1-2.

The biggest impact would be on the mentality of the Jets, though. They came into this season thinking that the Super Bowl was all but theirs, but a loss to a team in their division would be crushing and hard to recover from.

It is a key game, and I don't see how the Dolphins could do anything but throw the ball to get ahead. Our defense will take care of Mark Sanchez. All we have to do is score.

Henne is capable of being successful. The play-calling has been what has hindered him to this point. The play-calling has to start to favor Chad Henne more if the Miami Dolphins want to continue winning this season.

Miami Dolphins Keys To The Game: Shut Down QB Mark Sanchez

When the Miami Dolphins play in their home opener this weekend their main concern should be on stopping one person:

Mark Sanchez.

I know that the New York Jets running game is supposed to be really great, but I am here to tell you that the running game should not be our main concern. The most important thing the Dolphins can do Sunday night is to get in Mark Sanchez's head by pressuring him all night.

Look at last week's game against the Vikings, for example. Adrian Peterson ran everywhere on the Dolphins, but they still couldn't win because Miami shut down Brett Favre and forced him to make mistakes.

They should do the same with Sanchez.

Sanchez is a young player, and when he is pressured he is definitely more likely to make a mistake than a more experienced player.

Mark Sanchez is the Miami Dolphins primary concern for two reasons. I have already mentioned the first reason, which is that he is young and inexperienced and Miami should be able to capitalize on his mistakes with turnovers. The other reason is that a potent passing offense is much more dangerous than a potent rushing offense.

We don't want Mark Sanchez airing it out all night because that would mean the Jets will put up a lot of points on the board. I am not yet sure if the Dolphins are capable of winning a high-scoring shootout just yet. I would rather a ground battle between the two that could be decided by turnovers.

Running the ball is less efficient than passing and does not give the offense a better chance to score. When you run the ball you have to depend on consistent yardage practically every play so you can earn a first down. All it takes is one loss of yards and you are at risk of having to punt the ball.

New York needs to lose confidence in Sanchez throwing against the Dolphins defense. That way they will have to run the ball, which is better because when a team is passing the ball they will usually get a first down after a single completion. That means they have room for a few incompletions and can still be successful. We don't want the Jets to have that option. We want them to be forced to run through the fear that Sanchez will throw a pick.

The NFL has already transformed into a passing league. You've heard it a million times before, and it is true. Teams have started to realize that the best way to win is to throw the ball, which is why we need to shut down Mark Sanchez.
