Jake Long Is A Beast, Which Is Why Cameron Wake Beating Him Is A Really Good Sign

Cameron Wake

Most of you probably know Jake Long, the Miami Dolphins Left Tackle.

You should also know that Jake Long is a beast, and he has rarely been beaten in training camp this year. If you read any training camp reports on Long, you will see that he just doesn't get beat very often.

He has been in the Pro Bowl in his only two seasons in the NFL, and that is why I was so surprised when I read about Cameron Wake beating Jake Long three times in a row during training camp.

Wake has been doing well so far in camp, which is evidenced by the training camp performance.

When he was in last season he showed flashes of greatness when he did play, which wasn't too much. Hopefully he will be in as a starter this season, because he could be dangerous to opposing quarterbacks and running backs.

Head Coach Tony Sparano has been saying good things about Wake so far and praising how few mental errors he has been making.

Hopefully that can carry on to the season when we need him now more than ever at the LB spot. We will see how he does during training camp.

I will be sure to keep you guys posted.

The Miami Dolphins Lose LB A.J. Edds For The Season, But Bring In Someone To Replace Him Quickly

Miami Dolphins rookie Linebacker A.J. Edds has sustained a torn ACL, and will be out for the season. Edds was a fourth round draft pick for Miami, who drafted him to help in pass coverage.

It is a shame that Miami lost Edds, because he was very good at pass coverage. Miami's passing defense was awful last season, and the Dolphins organization has been doing what it could to build a defense that is better at pass coverage. Edds was part of that, but he is gone now.

Miami was obviously not going to dwell on the loss, though. They went and immediately signed undrafted linebacker Micah Johnson.

Johnson is a big and strong player who is very athletic. He is also very good at coverage, so while Miami lost a coverage LB, they still gained one. Granted, Johnson may not be as good as Edds was at this moment, but he still has a lot of potential.

One thing that Johnson does have over Edds is athleticism and strength. Johnson is a beast. For proof just look at the picture to the right.

It is still not certain which LBs will make the team. Johnson would be an Inside-Linebacker if he does make it. While I am not sure Johnson's chances right now, I am just glad that Miami added depth to the ILB so quickly. That will help assure that you have the best chance to be successful.

That's all for now. Be sure to check back soon for more on the greatest team on earth.

Hopefully, The Miami Dolphins Will Sign Free Agent LB Adalius Thomas

One position that the Miami Dolphins could use some help on is the outside linebacker, and that could be a very easy problem to fix. The New England Patriots recently released LB Adalius Thomas, a veteran outside linebacker. According to an article on yahoo.com, the Dolphins are waiting for the price to drop on Thomas before they sign him.

I hope they don't wait too long, because from what I can tell Thomas has a lot of talent and experience. He would be instrumental in teaching the other Dolphins OLB's and helping them develop.

Another reason I really want Miami to sign him first is because the Jets have also showed interest in him, and I want Miami to do anything that will hurt the Jets. If the Dolphins can snatch up Thomas before the Jets, then the Jets will have to go searching elsewhere for a lesser talented OLB, which is perfect.

So, hope that Miami does not wait to long to sign Thomas because those slippery Jets will probably be ready to sign him soon.
