The Miami Dolphins have shocked much of the football world after starting the season with three straight wins. Now Miami has to go into New Orleans for some prime time football on Monday night.
My question to you guys is simple: will the Miami Dolphins beat the New Orleans Saints on Monday?
I'll leave the rest to you guys. I'm curious to see what you have to say.

I figured I would do a "You Tell Me" since there hasn't been much movement for the Miami Dolphins in the past two days.
So, my question to you is this: Are you happy with what the Miami Dolphins have done in free agency this offseason?
Just as a recap, the Dolphins have signed Mike Wallace, Dannell Ellerbe, Philip Wheeler, and Chris Clemons. They have released Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett. Sean Smith and Anthony Fasano have signed with the Chiefs, and Jake Long is still up in the air.
Let me know what you think. Email me at paul@dolphinshout.com. I'm also on twitter @PaulDSmythe.

You Tell Me: How Important Is a Great Quarterback?

Here's something we haven't done in a while.
First, a little background information: the purpose of the "You Tell Me" segments is to ask a question and to hear your response before we start saying anything. This way we can get your opinions without influencing them with our own.
So here it goes. You tell me. Just how important is it for the Miami Dolphins to have a great quarterback?
By great I don't mean elite. In my opinion there are only four or five quarterbacks I would call elite: Brady, Manning, Rodgers, and Brees.
I'll let all of you to decide what great means and how important it is to you.
Let me hear it.

So we've seen the Miami Dolphins in three games now, and we have a better idea of how good or bad this team is. What I wanted to do is see how you think the Dolphins will finish the season?
So my question is this: what will the Miami Dolphins record be at the end of the regular season? We currently stand at 1-2 (should be 2-1, but that game is behind us).
Here are the remaining games on the schedule:

It's been a long time since I've done a "You Tell Me" with the Miami Dolphins, so I figured I would do a new one today.
Here's today's question:
Who do you think the Miami Dolphins top two receivers will be this year? And as a bonus question, who do you want the Miami Dolphins top two receivers to be?
If you're not familiar with a "You Tell Me", basically I just ask a question and you guys let me know. The kick is that I don't provide my own opinion. I want to know what you guys think without me influencing you at all.
So, let me know. Below is a list of most of the Miami Dolphins receivers (in alphabetical order):

I am sorry for not posting all week. I have been too busy to put anything up, so I figured that I would do a very interesting Miami Dolphins "You Tell Me" this week.
The "You Tell Me" for the week is this: if the Miami Dolphins had the chance to trade for Peyton Manning, would you want them to do it?
I saw a post on a Dolphins fan page on Facebook, and there were a lot of people who thought that Miami shouldn't try and get him. I was shocked, because to me it is a no-brainer. In my mind it would be ludicrous to not take him. So, I am bringing this question to you guys to see what you think.
Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to your thoughts.

There has been a lot of talk recently about Tony Sparano keeping his job as head coach of the Miami Dolphins, and rightfully so. But, what about others on the coaching staff like Brian Daboll and Mike Nolan? Those two both started this season off kind of rough, but have since improved.
I want you guys to tell me what you think about the two. I haven't done a "You Tell Me" in a while, so I figured this would be an appropriate topic to use to bring it back.
So, you tell me. Who should the Miami Dolphins bring back next year, or how much more of them do you need to see to know if they should stay?
Thanks for stopping by, and let me know your thoughts.

I have a great idea for a "You Tell Me" because there isn't anything else to talk about Miami Dolphins-related right now (which is kind of pathetic considering we are in Week 6 of the NFL season).
My idea is to see who you would rather the Miami Dolphins have taken in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
With the pick they took RB Daniel Thomas, who has looked very good so far. He is one of the few bright spots on the team, and he has looked much better this year than Ronnie Brown did last year.
The alternative to Thomas, though, was to take QB Ryan Mallett, whom most of you know I was a GIANT supporter of. I strongly believe that Mallett is the real deal, no question about it. The Dolphins obviously didn't feel the same way though, and they allowed him to fall even farther.
So, what I want you guys to tell me is, with what you know now about Miami's offense, would you rather that the Dolphins had Ryan Mallett or would you rather that they still took Thomas. Let's pretend like Chad Henne is still healthy, too, because you can't predict injuries. I want you to say whether you think that Mallett would have been able to lead the Dolphins to more wins than Henne.
Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to your responses.

Today I wanted to do a "You Tell Me" on the Miami Dolphins consistently signing players from the Dallas Cowboys.
What I want to know is what do you think about it? Do you like that Sparano and Ireland have their own little pipeline from Dallas, or does it concern you that they aren't looking for other options enough?

You Tell Me: Where Does Chad Henne Rank Among Starting Quarterbacks in the NFL?

This week's "You Tell Me" is going to be about how good that you think Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne is compared to other starting NFL quarterbacks.
I have put together a list below of where I believe starting quarterbacks in the NFL belong, and I want you guys to look at the list and tell me where you think Henne should go in it. Some of you may not completely agree with where I rank the quarterbacks, but that isn't the point. I just want to know roughly where you would rank Henne.
Here's the list:
1. Tom Brady
2. Peyton Manning
3. Aaron Rodgers
4. Philip Rivers
5. Michael Vick
6. Drew Brees
7. Matt Ryan
8. Ben Roethlisberger
9. Sam Bradford
10. Matt Schaub
11. Eli Manning
12. Josh Freeman
13. Joe Flacco
14. Jay Cutler
15. Tony Romo
16. Kyle Orton
17. David Garrard
18. Ryan Fitzpatrick
19. Matt Cassell
20. Matthew Stafford
21. Mark Sanchez
22. Alex Smith
23. Jason Campbell
24. Tarvaris Jackson
I may have left some quarterbacks out, but I am pretty sure that is a good enough list.
Now, I want to know around where you would put Chad Henne in that list.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I wanted to do my first "You Tell Me" in a long time just to see where everyone stands on the Miami Dolphins quarterback situation.
For those who are new to the blog, every once in a while I will do a "You Tell Me" where I ask you guys a question and I don't provide my own opinion. The reason I do this is to see what your opinions are without me influencing them at all.
So, today's question is who would you rather start for the Miami Dolphins? Chad Henne or Matt Moore?
I am just doing this to get a feel for what everyone is thinking about the Dolphins quarterbacks at this time.
Thanks for stopping by, and let me hear it!

I have a great "You Tell Me" today. I want to know which player you would rather the Miami Dolphins have if they could only have one: Rookie Daniel Thomas or veteran Ronnie Brown?
You must consider all things for this one, including their age, potential contracts, playing ability, etc.
Let me know what you think.
I apologize for not posting for two days, but I was unable to access my laptop during that time. Thanks for stopping by.

"You Tell Me", do the Miami Dolphins need to make "wholesale" changes or one or two changes in order to be successful?
Big Bopper gave me an idea for this You Tell Me in a comment of his that I disagreed with, so I want to see what you guys think, too. I am not at all calling out Bopper, I am just saying that his and my disagreement gave me the idea to ask other people their opinions as well. I appreciate your comment Bopper and hope that you continue to return here. We like to have as many differing views as possible because it makes things more interesting.
Back to the question, though. Do you think the Miami Dolphins need to make wholesale changes and change a lot of personnel, or just a few changes to a few personnel? I would like to hear your thoughts on this one, because it will show me where you think we are as an organization.
Also, if you would like to go a little deeper, please also include the positions that you think need fixing.
Thank you guys for stopping by, and let me know what you believe needs to happen.

The Miami Dolphins are going to be adding another running back. This we know.
What we don't know is who that running back will be.
So, I want you guys to tell me who you would rather have: DeAngelo Williams or Ahmad Bradshaw, and why?

Also, YouTube has removed my Chad Henne interception video for copyright reasons even though there are a million other highlight videos on it. If you haven't seen it yet or would like to see it again just email me.
Thanks again.

Terrelle Pryor recently decided to try and enter into the NFL instead of go to Ohio State for his senior year.
So, I want to know if you guys want the Miami Dolphins to try and bring him to Miami.
In all honesty I don't know much about Pryor because he wasn't a player I did much research on, so hopefully you guys will know more than me about him and can give me an idea of whether or not he would be good for the Dolphins.
Thanks for stopping by, and let me hear your thoughts on him.

You Tell Me: How Does Chad Henne Compare To Mark Sanchez?

There has been some comparison recently of Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne and New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez.
If you guys will remember, most people thought that Henne was better than Sanchez at the beginning of the season. Now, I get the feeling that the popular opinion is that Sanchez is better.
I want to know what you guys think of both quarterbacks. Try and put your anti-Jet bias aside. I want you guys to evaluate them according to their talent, not the jersey that they put on.
Here are a few questions to get the discussion started:
-Who is the better quarterback?
-Which quarterback would you rather be on the Miami Dolphins?
-Which one would you trust the most leading your team?
Let me hear your answers now. Thanks for reading, and I am looking forward to today's answers. If the discussion seems pretty strong I may leave this up as the top post for tomorrow as well.

In the 2011 NFL Draft the Miami Dolphins drafted RB Daniel Thomas in the second round. Unless the Dolphins re-sign another big name free agent, Thomas will be the starting back this year.
What I want to know for today's "You Tell Me" is, do you guys think that Miami should try and sign another free agent running back or should they just stick with Daniel Thomas starting and allow Kory Sheets and Lex Hilliard to compete for the backup spot?
I will be commenting later today, so you guys will know my opinion then, but I am not going to post it here.
Thanks for reading, and let me know what you are thinking.

You Tell Me: Do YOU Want Mark Ingram?

There has been a lot of talk about Alabama RB Mark Ingram and the Miami Dolphins together. Despite all of that talk, I realized that I have never asked you guys whether you want to get Mark Ingram with the 15th pick or not. I have always given options of him and another player, but never just a yes or no question.
So, with this week's "You Tell Me" my question is, do you want the Miami Dolphins to get Mark Ingram with the 15th overall pick?
It amazes me that I have never actually asked you guys straight up before, so I figured I should do it.
Let me hear it. I am sure there are people on both sides of the fence as well as some who are sitting on the fence and still not sure, but whatever you think please tell us.
Thanks for reading.

This week's "You Tell Me" is about Miami Dolphins LB Channing Crowder.
Crowder has always been a very talkative player, and that can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation. His vocal abilities have never come into question. What has come into question before is his playing ability, and I want to know what you guys think about him.
So, my question is do you guys think Crowder is good enough to be starting for the Miami Dolphins?
If you don't think he is good enough, then who do you want Miami to go after to replace him and why isn't he good enough? If you do think he is good enough, then what do you like about him?
I hope you guys enjoy the discussion, and I will be adding my two cents whenever I feel like I should.
Thanks for reading. Let me hear what you have to say with a comment, and thank you Gary for the idea of this "You Tell Me."

You Tell Me: Carson Palmer Or Chad Henne For The Miami Dolphins?

I hope this never happens for the Miami Dolphins, but it is possible so I have to consider the possibility.
A few days ago the Miami Herald suggested Carson Palmer as a possible quarterback replacement for Chad Henne and the Dolphins next season.
My question to you guys is who would you rather: Chad Henne or Carson Palmer for the Miami Dolphins?
I am hoping that it never comes down to this, but it is possible so I want to know who you guys would rather see if these two were the only options.
I like to avoid putting my opinion in the post of a "You Tell Me," but I have to say this. I think it would be a huge mistake to get Carson Palmer. Palmer is fading and would only be a short-term replacement like Chad Pennington.
At least with Chad Henne he has time to improve and develop. Palmer wouldn't get any better. He would just grow older, and that's not what we want. I'm tired of these quick fixes to a major problem. Either Miami stays committed to Henne or they find another young quarterback to develop. Bringing in an old veteran won't help at all.
Now let me know what you think with your comment below. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to a good debate.
